Weekend Winners and Losers

All around Europe, league play was back on after the mid-week friendlies. Here’s a recap of the Czech Natties around the continent.


Winner: Pavel Nedved (Juventus).
Juventus is still at the top of the Seria A Calcio table thanks to Nedved’s winner over Sampdoria. (Juve 1 – 0 Sampdoria)

Winner: Milan Baros (Aston Villa).
Aston Villa pulled out a win over Portsmouth thanks to Baros’s goal. (Aston Villa 1 – 0 Portsmouth)

Loser: Jaroslav Plasil (Monaco).
Plasil put in an own goal to blow Monaco’s lead over Mets. (Metz 2 – 1 Monaco)

Winner: Roman Bednar (Hearts of Midlothian).
Bednar scored the winning goal in the 75th minute of play to give Hearts the result. (Heart of Midlothian 3-2 Livingston)

Winner: Martin Kolar (Westerlo).
Belgian First Division saw Czech midfielder Martin Kolar score an equalizer to get Westerlo back in the match and an eventual win. (Westerlo 2-1 St. Truiden)
