From PragueTV, on Vladimir Smicer:

SMICER REMAINS OPTIMISTIC
Vladimir Smicer remains optimistic that he can get fit in time for the World Cup, despite aggravating his knee injury on Tuesday. But the Bordeaux midfielder admitted that at the time he felt his knee give out, he was prepared for the worst.

“I said to myself, that’s the end,” the Bordeaux midfielder told journalists yesterday. “All at once, I couldn’t see a chance and I felt like giving up. But today I woke up and the pain had practically stopped.”

Smicer has also been told by Karel Bruckner that if he is dropped from the squad, he would, as a consolation, still be able to accompany the national team to Germany.
