Match Day!

June 12th, 2006 | By: Wendy | 37 Comments »

It’s match day here for our boys here in Deutschland, and since I’m prepping my voice to be cheering on the red, white, and blue (sorry, the OTHER red, white, and blue - I’m still a Yank by birth!), I don’t have time to write a formal review. So, I’ll let this guy do it instead.

Go… Team?

what a great game of Czech Republic, you guys got a very good team, that Rosicky guy is very dangerfull, Czech Republic is the best team i have seem in this world cup so far, also i would like to say that if Cote d’Ivoire make it too, them will upset alot of ppl, Cote d’Ivoire may have lost to argentina, but its a great team, im from brazil and i think brazil would have problem playing against Czech Republic, very strong and tactical team and Cote d’Ivoire they play more or less like brazil but they run much more, so that said, i hope brazil dont play these teams so early, i think italy and argentina are much more easly them those…

usa had a very good player too, that come on 2nd half, a black dude named jonhson i think.

good luck, cya

You can say what you want about the maximum average age of past champions and how the czechs are over their prime, but
this was the first business as usual win of the world championships. Even the goals, nothing unexpected, just done their thing and
bang, bang, thank you ma’am. Great organization, with everybody defending. This is all you want from a football team. Shame about
Koller than. He’s undoubtebly, the best man over 1m90 to ever run on a football pitch. Yes, my english and norwegian friends, even
better than Crouch or Carew. He will be missed. But if Baros can come back, they could still get over it. The only guy i would have
liked to see a bit more of would be Plasil. He can do better. On the other side, is i think, asking too much that Poborsky with his
age still has as much flourishes. Although he was fantastic in the Euro2004. It would have been naive, to think any of this would
have been possible without Nedved but, and forgive me for getting ahead of myself, Rosicky might just be on the way to becoming
the player of the tournament. However, the best man for me was Galasek. Watch out Makelele, Gattuso! This guy just make steal
away the award for the best defensive midfielder in the tournament.

This was probably also the fairest match so far. Allright there were ta couple of yellow cards, but they were pretty unavoidable and
needed to stop a break. With the exception of Lokvenc’s and Rosicky’s. What was wrong there? Sometimes the refs get a bit
carried away. It just sounds unbelievable, six yellow cards in a game like this. But there was no bad blood at all from either side.
A good example for matches to come.

Magic is all over the World Cup 2006!
Because of some strangeness in game results - this site becomes more and more famous http://www.voodoo4football.com
Is it possible - that synchronous desire of a lot of fans concentrates and affects on the results of the football game?

Congratulations to the Czechs. It’s too bad their opponents didn’t decide to answer the bell, but that takes nothing away from them. They were simply brilliant today.

Congrats to the Czech team who played with such skill and strength today. There was no question you were the superior team in just about every area of the game. I am glad Koller is not too hurt, as I think you have the potential to go all the way.
