PragueTV reports on the Zlaty Mic - the Golden Ball Award - contenders.

Three players - Petr Cech, Pavel Nedved and Tomas Rosicky - are in the running for the the 2005/06 Zlaty Mic (Golden Ball), which is awarded by Czech journalists to the country’s best player. The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Prague on June 5th. Voting for the award is in two stages - autumn and spring. Cech won the autumn vote, with 1,121 points, ahead of Vladimir Smicer (1,003), Rosicky (940), and Nedved (890). Smicer’s injury problems in the second half of the season mean that he is no longer in the running for the overall prize.
