FOOTBALL OFFICIALS WELCOME NEW HOOLIGANISM BILL

Czech football officials have welcomed a parliamentary bill that would give them new powers to deal with hooligans. The bill, which has been passed by the Czech Republic’s lower house (Chamber of Deputies) and now awaits Senate (upper house) and presidential approval, would allow a maximum prison sentence of three years for pitch invaders and would enable clubs to ban troublemakers from stadiums.
