TSN is reporting that Bruckner stated that, if Smicer is not fit in time for the Cup, he could be replaced by either Libor Sionko or Skacel. Here is a link to the article:

tis will be a highly offensive squad but the concern is the defensive problem of the team despite of petr cech

Man, this is a pretty old bunch of players Nedved, Galasek, Smicer, Poborsky are all key players in the midfield and they’re all 33+. Their defense hasn’t been the qucikest/strongest they might struggle against the athleticism of the US team.

Well, Bruckner’s roster is pretty much as expected aside from the omission of Rudi Skacel. I can’t help but think that is a mistake, though there is certainly no shortage of offensively-minded players in this squad. Still, I think Skacel would have been a prudent choice given the advanced age of some of the CR regulars.
