Czech-in, Czech-out
Sorry for being a stranger – was just popping around among domestic leagues, international teams, transfer rumors, Champions League final and my personal legal b/s. Anyhow, as opposed to Mr. Brückner’s positive praise towards the Czech squad and the facilities in Bad Kleinkirchheim, personallly, I sense that this might be the worst European Championship experience ever in my life. Reasons and questions are only inceasing – Pudil and Sírl got sent back home after the medical examinations, useless Koller and Baroš who scored like 5 or 6 times in the international matches that almost equals to 1/3 of other strikers from other nationals. As for defense, Petr Čech shows his weakness in the Champions League, namely, saving PKs. I’m still not sure if Jankulovski who wasn’t really a regular player in AC Milan and Zdeněk Grygera with a light back problem can back up like they did in the World Cup qualifier play-offs against Norway NT(yep, I was there in Oslo freezing my a$$ off!).
My opinion is:they apparently have problems with strikers and defenders, they should re-consider the current line-up. I don’t need strikers who cannot strike, instead, they should add David Lafata and someone from Sparta Prague(Šmicer, perhaps? don’t think he’s too old to play for the national team). For the midfielders, I just want them to be highly attacking. You know, we just cannot look for 2nd Rosický or Nedvěd. Life goes on and we are running out of time. Depending on the result of tonight’s friendly against Lithuania, Mr. Brückner will have to make a new quick decision as the final player registration deadline is May 28th. Let’s see what happens…

I wondered how long it was going to be before we saw our first “Czech” pun.

Hi Laurie, thanks for the compliment, but to me, that is a major classic.
